1Who we are
Lomma ("Lomma", "we", "us") is a friendship and shared-interests platform available at getlomma.com. It helps adults meet people nearby who love the same things, join communities and go to events together.
This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, who can see it, and the choices you have. By using Lomma you agree to this policy. Lomma is for people aged 18 and over only.
2Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account details: your email or phone number, and your password. Passwords are stored encrypted (hashed), so no one at Lomma can read them. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile photo from Google.
- Profile: your name, username, birth date, gender, city and area, bio, photos and interests. Your birth date is never shown — only your age, and you can hide it.
- Location (optional): if you allow it, we save your location rounded to about 1 km and only ever show other people an approximate distance. You can hide the distance completely in settings.
- Verification selfie (optional): if you request a verified badge, the selfie is stored privately and is only seen by our review team to compare it with your profile photos.
- Content: messages, photos and voice messages you send in chat, posts, comments, reactions, and the communities and events you create or join.
- Reports and support: reports you file, and anything you send us by email.
Information collected automatically
- Activity: when you were last active, friend requests, who viewed your profile, and people you have blocked or skipped.
- Technical data: your IP address, used temporarily to stop repeated login attempts and spam, and error logs that help us fix problems.
3How we use it
- To run Lomma: create your account, show your profile, deliver messages and run communities and events.
- To suggest people based on shared interests, age range and approximate distance.
- To keep the community safe: messages are automatically checked for phone numbers and external accounts to protect you from scams, and our team reviews reports, photos and verification requests.
- To send you in-app notifications, for example about friend requests, messages and event changes.
- To improve the service and fix problems.
We do not sell your personal information, and Lomma has no advertising that tracks you.
6How long we keep it, and deleting your account
We keep your information for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time from My account → Delete my account.
When your account is deleted, we erase your name, username, email, phone number, password, bio, photos, interests, location, friendships and verification selfie, and you are logged out of all devices. Messages and posts you already sent stay visible to the people who received them, without your name. We keep records of reports and moderation decisions to protect the community.
7Your choices and rights
- Edit your profile and photos at any time from My account.
- Hide your age or distance, stop appearing in Discover, and choose who can message you.
- Block or report anyone.
- Ask us for a copy of your information, or to correct it, by emailing support@getlomma.com from the email on your account.
- Delete your account at any time.
We handle personal data in line with the laws that apply to us in Egypt, including Personal Data Protection Law No. 151 of 2020.
8Security
We use HTTPS encryption, store passwords encrypted, keep verification selfies in a private location that is not publicly accessible, and limit what each team member can do. No system is 100% secure, so please use a strong password and never share it.
9Age requirement
Lomma is only for people aged 18 and over. Your age is set once when you sign up and cannot be changed. If we find that an account belongs to someone under 18, we delete it.
10Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page and let you know about important changes inside Lomma.
